Hinkley Center for Solid and Hazardous Waste Management
Research Selection

The Research Selection Committee (RSC) is appointed by the Chairman of the Advisory Board. The RSC is responsible for reviewing and scoring preproposals received in response to the Request for Proposals. The RSC meets via conference call to discuss the preproposals and formulate a proposal invitation list. Based on the RSC's recommendation, selected investigators will be invited by the Executive Director to submit a full proposal to the Center. The RSC attends a one-day meeting to hear presentations from the Investigators submitting full proposals and develop a recommendation for funding. The Chairman of the RSC presents the recommendations of the RSC to the Advisory Board. The Advisory Board will review the recommended slate of sponsored research awards and make a recommendation to the Executive Director regarding that slate.
